December 11
3rd Sunday of Advent
John 1:6-8, 19-28

For your reflection
Prayerfully read this week’s gospel and ponder John’s words about “the true light coming into the world.” In your role as a catechist you have numerous opportunities to point to Jesus, the true light. For your Advent reflection: How might you better do this?

With your class
Have children draw something that gives light to others and then invite them to share with the class how they can be like the object they have drawn (flashlight, candle, etc.), in giving light to others. End with this cheer: “Hurray for John the Baptist, who told others about Jesus, the light of the world. Hurray for us when we do the same!”
